Early in the Biden administration, the unconfirmed acting Interior Assistant Secretary Laura Daniel-Davis issued a memo ordering career staff across the country to get her approval on all applications to drill—changing the department’s standard procedures and consolidating all authority in one single D.C. political appointee. To date, the Interior Department is sitting on 4,600 applications to drill on federal lands.
Needless to say, President Biden is not doing “everything in his power” to bring down high energy prices.
